Artist's Note
I got to Cape Schanck two hours before the galactic core was due to clear the horizon, because I didn't trust myself to find the spot in the dark. I sat on the same rock for most of that time, listening to the swell hit the base of the cliffs, watching the sky go from a handful of stars to thousands. When the Milky Way finally lifted clear of the water, it felt less like watching a photo opportunity and more like being let in on something. This is that moment, printed exactly as my eyes adjusted to see it, a quiet reminder that the biggest things in the universe are often the ones nobody's shouting about.
